Oranssi as an organization

The organisational structure of Orange could be described as ‘circular’. The majority of the residents of Oranssi Asunnot are members of the Orassi Association.

Oranssi Association owns Oranssi Asunnot Oy, which in turn owns the buildings and acts as landlord to its residents. In a sense, the tenants of Oranssi are the owners of their houses, although only collectively through the association.

Oranssi Asunnot is run by a board together with a managing director. The members of the board are appointed by the board of the Oranssi Association. The board is traditionally made up mainly of current and former residents. Residents’ decision-making and responsibility for their own houses and communities is an important principle at Oranssi. This is why the board of Oranssi Asunnot always develops the company’s activities in cooperation and discussion with residents, listening to the ideas raised in the house meetings.
